Nixa falls to Carthage in 47-7 in Class 5 District 5 championship game

Once the Nixa Eagles fell down 20-0 in the first quarter, there was no coming back against the Carthage Tigers in the Class 5 District 5 Championship Game. Though the Nixa Eagles continued to battle, the Tigers continued their dominance after the first quarter and defeated the Eagles 47-7.

"It's all about playing hard to the end," Nixa junior quarterback Jack Sanders said. "Sometimes it doesn't work out the way you want, but you have to keep on playing hard."

Carthage received the ball to start the first half and wasted no time driving down the field. But, the Nixa defense stood tall and forced a fourth-down play. With no hesitation, the Tigers' offense stayed on the field – and they converted on fourth down.
