Just moments after the final seconds ticked away, the Eagle Stadium scoreboard went dark. It was just as well. No one in Nixa crimson and gray wanted to think much about the 34-10 Central Ozark Conference loss to Webb City Sept. 23.
"Any time you're talking about a conference game in September, you've still got a lot of football left in the season," Nixa coach Rich Rehagen said. "This isn't even anybody we'll see again."
The loss to Webb City is one Nixa - which had won its first five games to open the season - would like to move on quickly from, as they fell behind 22-0 early and never got into a groove offensively. The Eagles ran just 16 plays in the first half and didn't pick up a first down until late in the second quarter.
