WILLARD, Mo. — Nixa boys basketball (10-1, 1-0) topped Willard (6-8, 0-1) 73-45 Tuesday to open the Eagles Central Ozark Conference campaign.
Willard lead 16-14 at the end of the first quarter and it would be the only lead the Tigers would have in the game.
Nixa used a strong second quarter to take regain the lead and control of the game, and never looked back. Eagles took a 35-25 lead into the half, extended their lead to 18 at the end of the third quarter, 53-35, and was on cruise control all fourth quarter to seal the 73-45 victory.
Kaleb Wofford led all scorers with 21 points in the victory.
Jason Jones added 20 points as well.
Nixa is back in action Friday, January 15 when the Eagles are set to host Carthage.
