Eagles soccer traveled to Carl Junction on Sept. 12 for a COC contest against the Bulldogs and coasted to a 7-0 victory over the host.

Nixa pounded 18 shots on the Bulldogs, 11 of which were on goal while holding Carl Junction to a mere two shots, none on the frame. Mason Adair posted the shutout in the net, his first of the year.

The Eagles struck first in the opening three minutes of the game, courtesy of a Bulldogs own goal coming off a corner kick from Blake Reynolds. 15 minutes later, Caeden Cloud scored the first of his two goals and put the Eagles up 2-0.

Lucas Green tallied Nixa's next goal with roughly four minutes left in the first half on a breakaway goal coming off an assist from Keagan Pycior. Nixa carried a 3-0 lead into the break.

Cloud completed his brace and opened the second half scoring 16 minutes into the frame, as he chased down a through ball that appeared to be going right to the keeper, but Cloud used his speed to beat the Bulldogs keeper to it and pushed it right past him for the 4-0 lead. Cloud also assisted on two of the Eagle goals, finishing with six points in the game.

From there, the floodgates would begin to open. Matt Price and Jake Harvey scored their first career goals and extended the Eagles lead to 6-0 with nine minutes left. Jake McClain netted Nixa's final goal in the last few minutes of the game off of an assist from Conner Shaar.

Cloud upped his total on the year to a team-leading six goals and six assists. Green is right behind Cloud with five goals.

The shutout win returns Nixa to .500 (3-3, 2-1 COC). The next test for the Eagles is a home matchup vs. Chaminade College Preparatory (5-1-1) out of St. Louis on Sept. 15 at Eagle Stadium.
