11/25/2024 1:02:00 PM

Nixa football defeated Lee's Summit North 21-20 in the Class 6 state quarterfinals and advanced to its first final four since 2014.

The Eagles prevailed in the most dramatic way possible, shocking everyone in attendance, as the visitors were in jubilation and the host Broncos stunned in disbelief.

With two minutes remaining and trailing 20-14, QB Adam McKnight and the Eagles drove 89 yards and completed the improbable. The sophomore QB used his legs primarily to march downfield, and a big 31-yard run set up the game-winning touchdown and saved the Eagles season. McKnight threw a perfect 19-yard ball to WR Wyatt Vincent in the back of the endzone with 10.4 seconds remaining for the TD. (Watch the game-winning TD here.)

Braden Kahmka nailed home the point after the touchdown, sealing the Eagles' victory and avenging their 2022 district championship loss (24-10) to the Broncos in 2022.
