Football finishes as Class 6 state finalists

The Nixa Eagles played in their first state title game in a decade on Dec. 6 at the University of Missouri, clashing with the De Smet Jesuit Spartans. 

Nixa's fell just short of the elusive Class 6 state championship 35-20.

The Eagles tallied 14 of its 20 points in the first quarter. RB Dylan Rebura scored the first touchdown on the game's opening drive. The Spartans answered with a TD of its own on the ensuing drive. Adam McKnight ran the ball in for the Eagles second score on a QB keeper, but De Smet responded back with a TD.

At halftime, the game was tied 14-14. 

Out of the break, De Smet made the proper adjustments and outscored Nixa 21-6.

Nixa ended the 2024 campaign with the program's best season ever, finishing with a record of 13-1 as the Class 6 state runners-up, Class 6 District 5 champions, and COC East champions.
