In the semifinals of the Class 6 District 5 tournament, Nixa and Kickapoo faced off for the second time this season, and the Chiefs eventually pulled away late in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Eagles 17-10. 

The opening three quarters was a game of runs, sparked by the team's defenses, that saw Kickapoo 12-7 after the first. The two teams were even at the half, 23-23. Nixa led early in the second half, but a Chiefs buzzer-beater to end the third gave Kickapoo a 38-34 lead with one period remaining. The Chiefs ultimately sealed the 54-44 victory in clutch time.
