Nixa earns its 7th straight victory with a 55-14 win over Waynesville

The Nixa Eagles added another dominating victory to their season with a 55-14 win over the Waynesville Tigers.

Waynesville entered the game 0-6, coming off a 44-14 loss to Glendale the week before.

The Eagles came out of the gates hot with a big first quarter, where Nixa found itself ahead 35-0. The Eagles were on cruise control the majority of the game and were able to rest the majority of their starters. 

Nixa totaled 615 yards (131 passing, 391 rushing) offensively and had a couple of hiccups with two fumbles.

Defensively, the Eagles were all over the place, causing four interceptions and one forced fumble.
 
Game Scoring Plays:

The Eagles defense came up big on the first drive, causing a forced fumble. Quarterback Adam McKnight capitalized quickly and connected with wide-open Randy Flint for a 71-yard touchdown on their first play of offense. View the TD here. 

Nixa quickly struck again. This time, it was running back Jayden McCaster slicing through the Tiger defense to quickly make it a 14-0 game. View the TD here.

After two minutes of playing time, McCaster made it a 21-0 lead, reaching the end zone once again off a wildcat keeper. View the TD here.

With a hot start to the game, Nixa continued the momentum and added another touchdown to their lead with McCaster getting his third of the quarter. View the TD here.

Capping off a huge first quarter, McKnight connected with wide-out Scholar Brown on a screen pass and took it 60 yards for a touchdown. View the TD here.

End of the 1st QTR Score: Nixa 35, Waynesville 0.

Starting off the second quarter, Nixa drove down the field with Jax Adams reaching the end zone, but the PAT was unsuccessful. Nixa upped its lead to 41-0 with 9:35 left in the half. View the TD here. 

After forcing another stop on defense, Peyton Chainey became the fifth Eagle to cross the pylons on a QB keeper. The Eagles went ahead 48-0 with 6:47 remaining for the half's final points. View the TD here.

Halftime Score: Nixa 48, Waynesville 0

Waynesville came out of halftime with some life. The Tigers began scoring on a scoop n' score, and later in the third completed a 67-yard TD pass for its only points in the contest.

End of 3rd QTR Score: Nixa 48, Waynesville 14

The Eagles responded by starting the 4th quarter with Adams earning his second TD of the night. View the TD here. 

Final Score: Nixa 55, Waynesville 14

This dominating victory puts Nixa at 7-0 to start the season, and 2-0 all-time vs Waynesville. Nixa hits the road to Ozark for the annual backyard brawl on October 17.
