Football cruises to 10th straight victory over Ozark

In the 2025 football Backyard Brawl, the Nixa Eagles went into enemy territory and walked out with a dominating 56-7 victory over Ozark.

Ozark entered the game 2-5, coming off a close 42-41 loss to Glendale a week prior.

The Eagles came out of the gates with purpose, where Nixa found itself ahead 35-7 at the break. Nixa was on cruise control the majority of the second half and was able to rest the majority of their starters. 

Nixa totaled 431 yards (88 passing, 343 rushing) offensively and had a clean sheet, committing zero turnovers.

Defensively, the Eagles were all over the place, causing three interceptions.
 
Game Scoring Plays:

The Eagles were the first to get the game going, running back Jayden McCaster would break away for a 74-yard touchdown run to give Nixa an early 7-0 lead with a little more than two minutes played. View the TD here. 

After Ozark had trouble returning the kickoff, the Eagles regained the ball again, and McCaster found himself crossing the endzone one more time on the drive's first play. View the TD here.

The defense forced another defensive stop, and quarterback Adam McKnight connected on a deep ball to a wide-open Owen Lock for an early three-possession lead for the Eagles. View the TD here.

End of the 1st QTR Score: Nixa 21, Ozark 0.

Ozark trimmed the Nixa lead to two possessions with a touchdown, with just four minutes running off the second quarter clock. At this point, the Tigers were down 21-7.

Nixa would quickly respond with McCaster earning another touchdown, slicing through the Tiger defense. View the TD here.

The Eagles defense would come up big with an interception, leading to running back Jax Adams rushing it in with time winding down in the first half. View the TD here.

Halftime Score: Nixa 35, Waynesville 0.

Starting the second half, Nixa drove down the field, ending with a McKnight to Randy Flint connection for six points. View the TD here. 

The Eagles defense helped extend the lead with a pick-six from Wyatt Mabe to put Nixa ahead with a commanding 49-7 lead.

RB Adams would put the game away with 6:31 remaining, breaking out for a 57-yard touchdown. View the TD here.

This dominating victory puts Nixa at 8-0 to start the season, and its 10th straight win vs Ozark. The Eagles returns home for the final regular-season game vs Glendale on Thursday, Oct. 23.
