Nixa ends regular season undefeated with a 63-21 win over Glendale

In the regular-season finale, the Nixa Eagles finished the season undefeated with a win over the Glendale Falcons 63-21.  

Glendale entered the game 5-3, coming off a close 43-42 win over Lebanon a week prior.

The Eagles scored 28 unanswered points in the first half and never looked back, dominating on both sides of the ball.   

Nixa totaled 420 yards (199 passing, 321 rushing) offensively and had a clean sheet, committing zero turnovers.

Defensively, the Eagles held the Falcons to 352 yards (188 passing, 164 rushing) and forced three interceptions.
 
Game Scoring Plays:

The Eagles were the first to get the game going. After driving down the field, running back Jax Adams sneaked on a goal-line rush with just under five minutes remaining in the opening quarter. View the TD here.

Glendale would respond with a passing touchdown, and the PAT would be blocked by Reed Wilson to keep the score 7-6. 

Following a minute after Glendale's score, the Eagles capitalized on a 47-yard deep pass from quarterback Adam McKnight to wideout Randy Flint six, putting Nixa back ahead by a touchdown. View the TD here.  

The lead quickly grew. After Glendale had trouble with the kickoff, Nixa would get the ball back inside the five-yard line, and RB Adams found the end zone for the second time with a little over a minute remaining. View the TD here.

The Eagles defense kicked off the second quarter with a Ty Kellis interception, which the offense quickly scored with a QB sneak from McKnight for his first rushing touchdown. View the TD here.

With a little under three minutes to play in the first half, McKnight would scramble away from the Falcons' defensive pressure and score his second rushing touchdown to put Nixa in a commanding 35-6 lead. View the TD here.

With time winding down in the first half, Glendale cut into the Nixa lead with a touchdown and converted on the 2-point play.

McKnight continued to find success on the ground, and late in the third quarter, he rushed for his third rushing of the game for Nixa's sixth TD in the contest. View the TD here. 

The Eagles defense continued to cause problems for the Falcons. Weston Weldon intercepted the Glendale QB and gave the offense great field positioning. It wasn't too long after that McKnight chalked up his fourth rushing touchdown of the night, extending Nixa's lead to 49-14 with a little over two minutes left in the third. View the TD here.

In a slow fourth quarter, Max Nicoll got the Eagles rolling by diving his way into the end zone to put the Nixa ahead 56-14 with four and a half minutes remaining. View the TD here.

Nixa added one more touchdown with 1:35 left on the game clock, as Peyton Chainey became the fifth Eagle to score on the night, bulldozing his way through the Falcon D-line inside the five-yard line. View the TD here. 

Glendale would break away for a long touchdown run with under a minute left in the game.

This commanding victory puts Nixa at 9-0, marking an undefeated regular season for the third straight year and its second straight win against Glendale. The Eagles earned a bye week in the district tournament and will play on Friday, Nov. 7, against the winner of Ray-Pec and Ozark.
