Football rolls past Pattonville, advances to Class 6 state title game

On a snowy, rainy, and cold afternoon, the Nixa Eagles traveled to Pattonville High School on Nov. 29 and shut out the Pirates 45-0 to advance to their second consecutive state title game.

RBs Jayden McCaster and Jax Adams scored three touchdowns apiece, while the defense added four points, forcing two safeties. McCaster had 176 yards on 22 carries, and Adams had 74 yards on nine rushes.

Nixa (13-0) will travel to St. Joseph, Mo., and play for the elusive Class 6 state championship on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. against Lee's Summit (9-4) on Craig Field at the Spratt Memorial Stadium on the campus of Missouri Western State University. Lee's Summit knocked off Jackson 35-28 in its semifinal matchup.
