Senior center fielder and Missouri State University-bound Wyatt Vincent has been a pivotal piece for the Eagles baseball program during his time at Nixa.

The four-year starter has paced the Eagles to a current 12-3 record with a No. 4 ranking in Class 6 by the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA). Nixa's suffered three setbacks against Blue Springs South (6-2), Marshfield (6-1), and Willard (4-1).

Vincent has had a phenomenal start to his final go-around in a Nixa uniform. He leads the team in every offensive category and already cemented his name in the program record books.

On March 27, the Eagles faced Rogers, Ark., and defeated the Mounties 5-2, where Vincent went 2-for-4, marking career hit No. 136 and setting the new program record.

Three games later, Vincent and the Eagles traveled to Webb City and triumphed over the Cardinals 8-3. His lone hit in the game was a triple for career extra-base hit No. 63, which also set a new program milestone.

15 games into the season, Vincent has a .500 batting average with 4 HR, 19 RBIs, 19 RS, 13 SBs, 13 singles, 6 2Bs, 3B. In six of those games, Vincent had multi-hit performances, including 4-for-4 against Bentonville, Ark., and 3-for-3 against Republic, where Nixa won both contests, 10-8 and 10-0.

Against Bentonville, it was Vincent's first home run of the season. His three additional HRs came against Savannah, Cabot, and Logan-Rogersville, all of which the Eagles were victorious 9-8, 7-6, and 10-2.

Heading into the Nixa's home matchup against Har-Ber, Ark. on April 11, Vincent currently has 143 career hits and 64 career extra-base hits, seeking to extend his milestones even further.

"Wyatt Vincent has had a very impressive start to his senior season, leading our team in every offensive category with several huge hits. He is an extremely mature baseball hitter who is also elite in the outfield. We are excited to see all the things he accomplishes on the field this spring and all the things he will help our team achieve," said head coach Logan Hughes.

Vincent's great performance to start the season earns him the first
Guaranty Bank Athlete of the Week of the spring season.
