Nixa picks up it's fifth win thanks to a dominating first half performance.

In a Thursday night clash, the Nixa Eagles hosted the Lebanon Yellowjackets in their Homecoming bout.

Lebanon entered the game 2-2, coming off a big 55-34 win over Willard the week before.

In a dominating performance on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, Nixa came out on top 49-14.

Nixa totaled 443 yards (145 passing, 216 rushing) offensively and had a clean game, committing zero turnovers.

Defensively, the Eagles forced three turnovers, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Game Scoring Plays:

Running back Jayden McCaster began the scoring after getting into the red zone on the opening drive of the game, giving Nixa a 7-0 lead with 8:59 remaining in the opening quarter. View the TD here. 

Lebanon answered back with a passing touchdown to tie it at 7-7 with 4:47 left in the first. 

The Eagles regained the lead with a McCaster rushing TD in the final minutes of the first quarter. View the TD here.

With the first quarter winding down, Randy Flint gave Nixa the ball back, forcing an interception. The offense capitalized as McCaster pushed his way through for his third TD. Nixa increased its advantage to two possessions as the first quarter came to a close. View the TD here.

End of the First Quarter Score: Nixa 21, Lebanon 7.

Starting the second quarter, the Eagles defense produced another big turnover, recovering a fumble. RB McCaster quickly found the endzone once again to give Nixa a big 28-7 lead with 9:44 remaining in the first half. View the TD here.

Nixa started to put the game away with another interception from Flint, giving the offense the ball again. It wasn't too long after that McCaster was holding up the number five on his hands, as he waltzed in for his fifth touchdown. Nixa led 35-7 with 8:07 left on the second quarter clock. After forcing Lebanon to punt, quarterback Adam McKnight found his first passing TD, connecting with Owen Lock in the end zone and extending Nixa's advantage to 42-7 with 5:31 remaining in the half.  View the TD here.

With under two minutes remaining in the first half, McKnight threw for his second TD, hitting wideout Carter Mabe for a deep TD. View the TD here.

Halftime Score: Nixa 49, Lebanon 7

After a scoreless third quarter, Lebanon found the endzone with a TD, which would be the final points of the game. 

Final Score: Nixa 49, Lebanon 14

This dominating victory puts Nixa at 5-0 to start the season, and 2-0 all-time vs Lebanon. Nixa gets ready to head on the road, October 3 to 0-5 Kickapoo, coming off a 38-29 defeat to Glendale.
