Phil Wickwar

Coach Wickwar is in his fifth year as a football and wrestling coach for the Nixa Eagles.  Coach Wickwar attended Kickapoo High School, participated in football, wrestling, track, and off-season weights and conditioning.  He attended Wayne State College on a football scholarship.  As a four-year starter, Wickwar received post season honors three of those four years.  He played three years at Wayne and one at Evangel University.

Upon college graduation, Coach Wickwar was a co-owner of a fitness center in Bolivar, Missouri and began his coaching career.  Statistically, Wickwar has spent 25 years total in coaching including eight as a head coach, nine years collegiately, and two in the semi-pro division.  The remaining years he worked with high school athletes with stops at Kickapoo, Willard and Nixa.   He became a certified weights and conditioning specialist with the NSCA in 1992 and received an undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University and a Masters from Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas.  Wickwar feels humbled and fortunate to have coached six athletes that played in the NFL, four All Americans, over a hundred of all conference athletes and thousands of great young men!
