Evan Palmer - Head Coach Boys Soccer; Head Coach Girls Soccer
Coach Palmer has been coaching the Nixa High School boys and girls soccer teams since their inception in 1995 for the boys and 1998 for the girls. Before coming to Nixa, Palmer was the Kickapoo High School JV coach from 1991 to 1994. In 1990, coach Palmer was the student assistant coach for Missouri State University. He has also coached many club soccer teams over the years. Â
Coach Palmer attended high school in Los Alamos, NM (1982-1986) where he captained the Hilltoppers to a 3rd place finish at state his senior year. Coach Palmer attended college at Missouri State University (1986-89) where he was a member of the soccer team and its captain his senior year. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1994 from MSU and went on to get his Master’s in Administration at William Woods University in 2010.
His teams have been building over the 20 years or so of the program and have reached high levels in recent years. The girls program has won 7 district championships (2010, 2013-2018) along with 6 Conference Championships (2011-2015 and 2018). The girls have 5 sectional championships (2010, 2013-2016) and have made the Final Four once in 2013.
The boys program has 4 district championships (2000, 2011, 2015, and 2017) and 11 conference championships; 6 unofficial (1998, 2002-2006), 6 official conference championships (2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017). The boys have 2 sectional championships and made the Final Four once in 2015. Â Coach Palmer reached the 500 win total (271 boys wins, 229 girls wins) in the spring of 2016 with a 1-0 win over Jefferson City.
Coach Palmer has lived in Nixa since 1994 with his wife Michele. Â He has two children; Maycie (class of 2017), and Carson (class of 2023). Â
