  • Team ranked in top 10 final Class 5 poll 4 of 5 years as head coach
  • Coached nine players who received college basketball scholarships
  • Only person in Nixa basketball school history to win a state championship as a head coach and player

HEAD WOMENS’ BASKETBALL COACH SOUTHWEST BAPTIST UNIVERSITY 1994-2008


Prior to coming to Nixa in 2008, Coach Middleton was the head women’s basketball coach at Southwest Baptist University fourteen years. Ā He and his teams received numerous awards. They include:
  • Southwest Baptist University Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee 2015
  • Two time finalist for NCAA National Coach of The Year (2001, 2008)
  • MIAA Coach of The Year 2008
  • Six NCAA Tournament Teams
  • Every senior graduated for a 100% graduation rate for the fourteen years
  • All-Time winning coach in history of SBU basketball
  • Highest career winning percentage in SBU basketball
  • Coached 4 professional players and 3 all-Americans

ASSISTANT WOMENS’ BASKETBALL MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY 1985-87, 1991-94

Before becoming head coach at SBU, Coach Middleton was an assistant women’s basketball coach at Missouri State University from 1991-94 and also 1985-87.
