Nixa Public Schools

Lance Brumley is in his 21st year at Nixa High School and currently serves as FCA huddle Coach, Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach, and Head Boys and Girls Track Coach.  Coach Brumley moved to Nixa in 1998 to serve as assistant football coach and assistant wrestling coach.  

In 2002, Coach Brumley was named Head Boys Track and Field Coach after serving as assistant coach for 2 years. He took over as Head Coach for the Girls Track and Field team in 2018. In 2009 Coach Brumley took over the Cross Country program from long time head coach Gene Harmon.

During his tenure, the Boys Track and field teams have won COC titles in 2002, 2012, 2014 and 2016 along with a district titles in 2014, 2015, and 2016. The Girls Cross Country program have won COC championships in 2009, 2010 and 2012 along with earning state berths in 2010 and 2012. The Boys Cross Country team have won COC championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013.  

Coach Brumley attended Baker University and lettered in football all 4 years and was part of the Wildcats 4 conference championships and 3 national qualifying teams. Lance’s wife, Chris, is also a teacher and works at Summit Intermediate School. They have 3 daughters Allison (17), Carlee (15), and Megan (8).
