Evan Palmer knows how the soccer season works. He knows his Nixa Eagles are in the same soccer district as Ozark and could play them again, so he wasn't ready to do too much celebrating after Nixa blanked Ozark 7-0 in the Christian County Derby Sept. 20.

"With us winning like that, the revenge factor later on in the season could be huge on their side," Palmer said. "I told the guys (Ozark's) going to be fired up if we see them again. It won't be an easy game."

Not that this one was easy. Ozark got several quality chances in the first half before Nixa broke in front on an eighth-minute goal by Parker Crawford. Andrew Koban made it a 2-0 game less than 10 minutes later with an opportunistic goal. He beat the Ozark defense to a rolling ball near the top of the 18 and, with the keeper off his line, was able to shoot the ball into the open net.
