A single run in the top of the first inning wasn't a harbinger of things to come Sept. 22. Instead, that was all the offense the Nixa Eagles could scratch out against Ozark's Brooke Pridgen in a 4-1 Tigers win.
"The best thing about today is the way Brooke pitched," Ozark coach Yancey Little said. "She continued to do her thing and do a good job. We had a few miscues defensively, but she didn't let that bother her. She hung in there."
Nixa had the bases loaded in the top of the first against Pridgen, who plunked Rylie Bennett to force home a run. But Pridgen wriggled off the hook and her teammates picked her up in the home half of the inning.
