NIXA, Missouri - The Nixa Eagles boys wrestling team started their 2021-22 season with two wins in their first two matches.

The Eagles rallied late in their first match against Farmington to get the win 37-34 after being down 34-12 with five matches left.

Zan Fugitt at 126 (No. 5 in the nation) and Aidan Ward at 138 got Nixa's 12 points through the first nine matches with pins. Fugitt showed why he is one of the nation's best, as he pinned Farmington's Zach Dennis in 56 seconds.

Tied up at 34 going into the last match, Charles Speake at 285 won by decision 3-0 to secure the win against the Knights of Farmington. 

The second match against Logan-Rogersville was not down to the wire like it was against Farmington.

The Eagles won eleven of the fourteen matches to win 60-16.

The Logan-Rogersville Wildcats were pinned six times, as Zan Fuggit was once again the highlight of the match with a pin in 31 seconds.

Peyton Moore, Cole Crahan, Ty Hartman, and Gage Sporleder accounted for the other five pins.
