Brooke Teter had an unforgettable week during the 2025 Nixa Invitational Tournament.
The senior guard/forward played a significant role in helping the Eagles win their first tournament title since 2019, defeating Cape Notre Dame 81-45, Helias Catholic 79-52, and Fair Grove 64-55. This also marks the first title for the Class of 2025 in their Nixa careers.
Teter scored 59 points in a three-game tournament span, including 31 points in the semifinal game against Helias, which set a new career high. Her previous mark was 29. She was also the tournament's top scorer, averaging 19.7 PPG, along with 8.7 RPG. She has had a double-double performance in the championship title, with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
While she was dominant on the offensive end, finishing 26-of-44 (59%) from the field, the multi-sport athlete (four-year varsity soccer player) was the defensive catalyst and tone-setter throughout the Eagles tournament run.
"Brooke had a tremendous NIT for us and her play on both ends of the floor made a huge impact for our team. She obviously poured it in offensively, but the way she sets the tone for us defensively with her hustle and effort is what really put our team on top last week," said head coach Jenny Talbert. "I could see the determination on her face for the whole tournament. She was very focused and locked in on making sure our team came away with three wins.
"Brooke is super athletic and a tough match-up for any team we play. She has guard quickness but is also strong with size. Guards struggle with her physical play and posts have a hard time keeping up with her. She is super competitive who wants to win at all costs, and no matter what, going to give it everything she has. She is a joy to coach, an extremely hard worker, and keeps things lively at practice. I'm excited to see how she finishes out her senior season," also stated Talbert.
Teter has helped the Eagles endure a current eight-game winning streak and an overall record of 14-3 heading into Nixa's final third of the season. A matchup with Carthage awaits on Jan. 30.
Teter's performance earns her the Guaranty Bank Athlete of the Week.
