The Nixa girls basketball team defeated Fair Grove 64-55 to win its first Nixa Invitational Tournament since 2019, avenging last year's 66-62 overtime defeat in the third place game.
Previously, Nixa appeared in the 2022 and 2023 title games but fell short to West Plains and Park Hill South.Â
2025 was Nixa's year.
The Eagles defeated Cape Notre Dame 81-45, Helias Catholic 79-52, and capped off its dominate tournament run with its victory over Fair Grove.
Nixa used a big fourth quarter run, sparked by the play of seniors Kennedy Nash and Addy Ruffin, to triumph over the visiting Eagles.
Senior Brooke Teter led the offense with 14 points and finished as the tournament's top scoring averaging 19.7 PPG, incuding a career-high 31 point outing vs. Helias.
The win moves the Eagles to 14-3, extending its winning streak to eight straight games.
