The Nixa cross country team has competed in three meets, entering the annual Nixa Riann Lubinski Invitational on Oct. 4.

The team kicked off the year at the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association (SWCCCA) Invitational at Bolivar Municipal Golf Course. The boys placed fourth overall against 54 other teams and 502 runners, led by top-50 times from Reyes Martinez and Alex Flannery. The girls finished ninth against 35 teams and 341 runners, led by Emma Hurst's and Mackzine Harris' top-50 performances.

At Ray-Pec, the boys team captured the team title with 32 points in a field of 11 teams. The girls team placed fourth with 100 points in a field of nine teams. 74 total runners competed in the boys race, and Reyes Martinez, Alex Flannery, Gage Holmes, Dylan Mabe, and Zane Zonvinger all clocked in with top-10 times. 65 total runners ran in the girls race, and Meliah Copley and Emma Hurst were Nixa's top runners, finishing in the top 15.

Following Ray-Pec, the team competed on the state championships course in Columbia, Mo. at the Gans Creek Classic. The boys race fielded 277 runners and 32 schools, and the girls race had 255 and 32 schools. Against some of the area's top schools and runners, the boys placed in the middle of the pack, finishing 14th, and the girls finished 22nd.
