Junior Miah Johnson has been a dangerous hitter at the plate in every game this season for the Eagles softball team.

Johnson, the Eagles' first and second baseman, bats third in the lineup and has a nine-game hitting streak that stretches from Sept. 13 to 20.

In 18 games played thus far, Johnson leads the 8-10 Eagles in batting average, hits, HRs, RBIs, accumulating a .518 average with 29 hits, 11 HRs, 28 RBIs, 18 R, 4 2B, and 1 3B. There have been only three games in which Johnson has been hitless, and in nearly half of the contests, she's had multi-hit games with an HR.

Johnson had a two-homer and 3 RBI performance in Nixa's 7-0 shut-out victory over Joplin, and three multi-hit games that included a HR and 4 RBIs as well (Willard, Kearney, and Excelsior Springs).

She also had a four-consecutive HR streak (Excelsior Springs, Carthage, Joplin, and Pryor, Okla.) that stretched from Sept. 16 to 19. 

"Miah Johnson is a hard worker and grinder during practice who tries to get better every day. She's having a very good junior season to this point, splitting time between 1st and 2nd base. She is currently hitting 3rd in the lineup and leads the team in average, hits, HRs, and RBIs," said head coach Matt Walker.

Johnson seeks to carry her offensive firepower into its big conference and district matchup with Kicakapoo on Sept. 25.
