Playing in the Final Four used to be a once-in-a-generation accomplishment for the Nixa volleyball program.

Now, it's something the Eagles expect.

After going 20 years without a trip to the state semifinals, the Eagles have now been three times in the past seven seasons. Their third-place finish last fall has coach Annie Zimmerman excited about what's next for her program.

"Reaching the Final Four was a tremendous accomplishment, but I think it also validated that the foundation we're building is capable of competing with the best programs in the state," she said. "Most importantly, it gave our players confidence and raised the expectations for what Nixa volleyball can achieve moving forward."
