The Nixa Lady Eagles volleyball traveled to and competed in the Rolla Invitational Tournament on October 3, 2020.
Originally on the schedule for the Lady Eagles was the Blue Springs South Invitational but due to COVID-19 regulations, it was canceled for them and they did not get a chance to defend their title from a year ago.
Instead, the Lady Eagles swept every opponent that stood in their way, claiming the tournament championship.
In pool play, Nixa defeated Owensville (25-13, 25-20), Fatima (25-14, 25-16), Waynesville (25-17, 25-18) and West Plains (25-12, 25-10), capturing first place in the pool.
Osage was the next opponent for Nixa in the semifinals. The Lady Eagles made easy work of Osage, defeating them 25-14 and 25-16. They carried that momentum into the championship match against Blair Oaks.
Like the semifinal, Nixa made quick and easy work of Blair Oaks, ousting them in the final 25-11 and 25-12, which secured the Lady Eagles the tournament championship.
This championship marked the second one on the year for the Lady Eagles as they claimed the Springfield Invitational crown in early September.
With the championship, Nixa improved to 16-2 on the year and returns back to action on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, for the annual Dig for a Cure Night away at Branson.
