Lady Eagles sweep their way to 11-0 for the first time in program history

Nixa started the weekend off with a nonc-onference matchup at Rogersville (6-6). It was all Lady Eagles from the jump, as they swept the Lady Wildcats (25-12, 25-16, 25-22). Jaycee Fixsen led the way with 16 kills and Sydney Golden assisted on 34 points. On the defensive side, Golden added 15 digs along with Billmyer's 3 blocks.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Glendale on Saturday, Sept. 18 to take part in the Springfield Classic. The field consisted of Bentonville West (AR), Carl Junction, Fort Smith Southside (AR), Glendale, Kickapoo, Oak Park, Olathe East (KS), Ozark, Parkview and Rogersville. Nixa's pool consisted of Olathe East and Rogersville.

The Lady Eagles rolled through pool play, defeating Olathe East 2-0 (25-14, 25-18) and Rogersville 2-0 (25-18, 25-12). Gaining the No. 1 seed, Nixa moved to the gold bracket. The road to the championship for the Lady Eagles started against a fellow conference opponent in Carl Junction, Nixa won 2-0 (25-10, 25,19). The semifinals matchup brought on Fort Smith Southside. The Lady Eagles won 2-0 (25-13, 25-20). Kickapoo also advanced to the championship game, Nixa won the last matchup 3-1 on Sept. 9. The Lady Eagles saw no trouble and won in straight sets (25-19, 25-15).

Nixa capped off a ten-game road trip at Willard on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in the Central Ozark Conference (COC) opener. Willard (13-3-1), the defending Class 4 state champions, won the matchup last year 3-0. The Lady Tigers battled in the first set, but eventually Nixa would pull away and take the set. Set two was all Nixa. The Lady Eagles would use massive runs to win 25-6. Willard would not go down without a fight however, the Lady Tigers led most of the third set. Nixa would claw their way back, and take the set 25-23.

The Lady Eagles start the season 11-0, something that has never been done in program history. Most of which has been on the road, as they have only played one home game. Nixa will take on Carthage in their second COC matchup of the season on Thursday, Sept. 23, at home.
