Following a 16-9 district runner-up campaign, the boys soccer team is 13 games into the season, with a record of 8-5, entering the annual Kickapoo Shootout Oct. 2-4.

The Eagles knocked off the likes of Columbia Hickman, Branson, Monett, Webb City, Republic, Willard, and, most recently, Marquette and Eureka. All of Nixa's defeats were dealt by state-ranked opponents - Rock Bridge (Class 4, No. 6), Springfield Catholic (Class 2, No. 1), Summit Christian Academy (Class 3, No. 10), Chaminade (Class 3, No. 2), and Carthage (Class 4, No. 10) - which were decided by the a one-goal margin with the exception of Springfield Catholic (4-0). Nixa fell in a heartbreaking fashion to Carthage in penalty kicks, 2-1.

Junior midfielder Gavin Shaw leads the Eagles scoring attack with seven goals, and senior forward Keagan Pycior follows behind with five. Six of Shaw's goals were two-goal performances against Branson, Monett, and Webb City.

Goalkeepers senior Mason Adair and junior Jackson Smith have combined for five shutouts.

In the Kickapoo Shootout, Nixa faces Capital City (Class 3, No. 12), Jackson, and Francis Howell North. The annual rivalry matchups against Kickapoo, Glendale, and Ozark are scheduled for Oct. 7, 16, and 23, all of which the Eagles will be on the road for.

The Class 4 District 5 tournament is scheduled for Nov. 1-11 at Republic High School. District 4 features Branson, Glendale, Kickapoo, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Rolla, and Waynesville.
