2/19/2025 5:30:00 PM

The 2025 Missouri State High School Activities Association's (MSHSAA) Girls Swimming and Diving Class 2 State Championships will be held Feb. 20-21 at the St. Peter's Rec-Plex in St. Peter's, Mo.

The swimming preliminary rounds are set for Thursday, Feb. 20, at noon, concluding at 3 p.m. The diving competition follows at 4:30 p.m.

The swimming finals are the following day, Friday, Feb. 21, beginning at 10 a.m.

According to MSHSAA standards, the top 32 times individuals entered on MSHSAA's swimming performance list in their respective events qualify for the state meet.

Nixa met these standards in two events: the 200- and 400-freestyle relays posted regular-season times in the top 32.

Nixa's state relay team consists of senior Alivia Giddens, juniors Lucy Hronek and Lillian Robison, sophomore Kylie Avens, and freshmen Braelyn Clark, Addisyn Gill, Alyvia Gordon, and Vanessa Lowry.

The 200-free team is Hronek, Robison, Gordon, and Avens. Giddens, Lowry, Gill, and Clark will serve as alternates. The team posted a season-best time of 1:52.00 at the Kirkwood Invitational on Jan. 17 and enters state with the 32nd fastest time. Park Hill South is the top-ranked time of 1:36.25.

The 400-free relay team enters state with the 30th fastest time. The four of Avens, Gordon, Giddens, and Hronek set a season-best time at the SWMO champions on Feb. 7 of 4:09.34. Nixa sits ahead of Carthage (4:09.34) and Kickapoo (4:12.26) prior to state. Robinson, Lowry, Gill, and Clark serve as alternates.

Hronek and Avens participated in the 2024 state meet, with the 400- and 200-free relays, which placed 24th and 25th, respectively.
