2025 state soccer information, Eagles rematch Blue Springs South in Class 4 quarterfinals May 31

The Nixa girls soccer team successfully defended its title and repeated as Class 4 District 5 champions with a 2-0 victory over Kickapoo.

En route to the title, Nixa held all of its foes to a goose egg on the scoreboard, shutting out Neosho (8-0), Glendale (4-0), and Kickapoo (2-0). 

The win advances Nixa to the Class 4 state quarterfinals against the Blue Springs South Jaguars. The Eagles, winners of seven straight, enter with a record of 20-2 and have held their last seven opponents scoreless. This contest marks a rematch of last year's quarterfinal, where Nixa fell at Blue Springs South 4-2.

This year, the locations reverse, and the game is set for Saturday, May 31, at Eagle Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The first 50 Nixa students with a student ID with be receive free admission.

Blue Springs South (19-2), the No. 3-ranked team in Class 4 and No. 1 seed in District 6, defeated Battle 18-0 in the quarterfinals, Sedalia Smith-Cotton 6-0 in the semifinals, and Rock Bridge 3-2 in the championship to repeat as district champs for a third consecutive time.

The Jaguars bested Nixa 3-0 on their home turf in the early stages of the regular season and hold an all-time record of 2-0. 

Entering the quarterfinal contest, both teams are nearly identical on both sides of the ball, including each allowing less than a goal per game, the Jaguars (0.5) and the Eagles (0.6). Blue Springs South averages 4.3 goals per game, while Nixa averages four. The Jaguars game-high goals scored were 18, and the Eagles 11. Nixa's defense has posted 16 shutouts to Blue Springs South's 13. 

Each team is led by its all-state returnees. 

Nixa, the No. 8-ranked Class 4 team, is anchored by its 2024 all-staters, senior defender Bailey Snyder (1st), junior forward Shaelee Franck (1st), and junior midfielder Sam McClain (2nd). Snyder has signed with Drury University, while McClain has given her commitment to the Panthers. Fellow teammate Brooke Teter is also signed with Drury. Franck is committed to the University of Northern Iowa.

Blue Springs South is headlined by its 2x second team (2023) and honorable mention (2024) selection and University of Central Florida commit junior attacker Haley Cramer. 

In the last five seasons (2021-2025), Nixa has reached the state tournament three times, falling to Lee's Summit West in the 2021 sectional round and Blue Springs South in the 2024 quarterfinals. Nixa last reached the first final four in its only berth in 2013, where the Eagles finished fourth in Class 3. 

Likewise, the Jaguars are appearing for a third time, all of which have been consecutive. They fell to Kickapoo in the 2023 quarterfinals and placed fourth in 2024. 

2025 marks each team's third appearance.

Other quarterfinal matchups include Cor Jesu Academy (19-1, No. 1-ranked, and 2024 Class 3 state champions) vs. Ursuline Academy (14-6-1), St. Dominic (12-6) vs. Lafayette (Wildwood) (13-8), Lee's Summit West (15-5) and Liberty North (16-5). The winner of Nixa and Blue Springs South would face the winner of Cor Jesu and Ursuline in St. Louis on June 6.

During the regular season, the Eagles defeated Lee's Summit West 2-1 and fell to Cor Jesu 5-0. Blue Springs South split its series with Lee's Summit West, falling 2-0 and prevailing 3-1.
